When your Aadhaar gets generated, the helpline permits you to note your Aadhaar number with which you can download your Aadhaar from the UIDAI website.

- On the UIDAI's website
You can check the status of your Aadhaar card online by visiting the online portal of UIDAI's official website. There will be no fee or charges to be paid by you to check your Aadhar card status on UIDAI's official website. Follow the below steps to see the status of the application of your Aadhaar card online:
Step 1: Visit theUIDAI's official website https://uidai.gov.in/ and go to the 'My Aadhaar' section. You will see another subsection named "Check Aadhaar Status" as shown below
Step 2: Fill up the Enrolment Id. As explained above, the enrolment ID is a 14-digit enrolment number and 14-digits date and time in the format: dd/mm/yyyy: hh: mm and the same is also shown in the below screenshot for your reference
Step 3: Enter the captcha code and complete the authentication process and then click on "Check Status"
Step 4: If your Aadhaar number has been generated, then you will be able to download your Aadhaar from the website or you can download the Aadhaar on your mobile as well, however, remember your phone number needs to be registered with your Aadhaar data
- If you have misplaced your acknowledgement slip or enrolment ID
You need to follow the below steps in case you have misplaced the enrolment ID
Step 1: Visit theUIDAI's official website https://uidai.gov.in/and go to the 'My Aadhaar' section. You will see another subsection stating "Retrieve Lost or Forgotten EID/UID" as shown below
Step 2: Choose the option of "Enrolment ID -EID" as below
Step 3: Enter your name, your mobile number or your email address and fill in the captcha security code
Step 4: Tap on "Send OTP" and the OTP will be sent to your registered address. Fill in the OTP and complete verification
Step 5: After verification, the enrolment number would be sent to your email ID and your registered mobile number. And after you have got the enrolment number on your mobile, you can check the status of your Aadhaar by following the above procedure as mentioned above

As mentioned above, when you apply the first time for your Aadhaar through an enrolment centre, you get an acknowledgement slip that contains your enrolment number which is of 14 digits.
